TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The following information is to be read in conjunction with our installation details for installing a Kiwibraai using Hebel, Concrete Insitu, Block Masonry or Timber Framing Installation. (These details are available on our website or we can provide on request).
While there are hundreds of Kiwibraais in use in NZ, laboratory testing has not been done in NZ and the technical specifications we provide are taken from relevant sections of the Standard AS/NZS 2918:2001 that are specifically for untested fires.

In addition:
- Ensure there are no gaps in joints, particularly for Timber Framing, as heat can get through the gaps.
- Ensure heat or fire sealant is used on the joints and over any metal fixings.
- After installation and prior to first use of the Braai, ensure an inspection is done to check that there are no gaps and that the installation has been done to our specifications and to any relevant information we have provided to you from the Standard AS/NZS 2918:2001.
- If the Braai is going to be positioned beneath a ceiling, going through a roof cavity or completely enclosed, please let us know so we can direct you to our flue specialist, consult a flue specialist of your choice or refer to the Standard AS/NZS 2918:2001 for the relevant detail.
