TECHNICAL INFORMATION

All information is to be read in conjunction with our installation details for installing a Kiwibraai using Hebel, Concrete Insitu, Block Masonry or Timber Framing Installations. (We can provide on request).

While there are hundreds of Kiwibraais in use in NZ, laboratory testing has not been done in NZ and the technical specifications we provide are taken from relevant sections of the Standard AS/NZS 2918:2018 that are specifically for untested fires.

In addition:
  • Ensure the installation is done as per our specifications which are designed in accordance with the Standard AS/NZS 2918:2018 for an untested fire. Any questions, please contact us for clarification.
  • Ensure there are no gaps in joints, particularly for Timber Framing, as heat can get through the gaps.
  • Ensure heat or fire sealant is used on the joints and over any metal fixings.
  • After installation and prior to first use of the Braai, ensure an inspection is done to check that there are no gaps and that the installation has been done to our specifications and to any relevant information we have provided to you from the Standard AS/NZS 2918:2018.

What Our Clients Are Saying...

We are very pleased with our Kiwibraai. This is the second one we have owned due to changing properties, so I think that speaks a volume in the fact we ordered a second Braai. We use it a lot as a social fire, but in recent times due to Covid-19, a lot more for cooking. We have cooked roasts, steaks, veges and even a dessert. As long as one does not forget about the cooking! we have had perfect, tasty results every time.
I also think it looks great, even when not in use and it certainly enhances our outdoor living experience when it is going.
Kiwibraai have been great to deal with, we are happy customers and welcome any correspondence about the Braai. Regards, Ken
